Athlete Diaries: High School Journeys Unveiled is a platform dedicated to spotlighting the journeys of in-school and out-of-school athletes and document the unique stories behind their achievements. By sharing their struggles and triumphs, the website hopes to not only honor their dedication but also inspire others in similar fields. Overall, it seeks to elevate the voices of athletes ensuring they receive the recognition they deserve in a landscape dominated by participation trophies.

Our Story

The purpose to this project

I sat down recently and realized how under-recognized athletes truly are. From winning state level awards and only being recognized on school announcements once or telling people they won first place by themselves, they don't get true recognition for their hard work. While recognition is not why many of these individuals pursue their sports, the positive feedback cultivates a community that honors their hard-work and dedication and also boosts their self esteem motivating them to continue participating. To start this project, I first discussed with parents of athletes to question if they felt that mere participation awards in an effort to be fair took away from recognizing those that are committed. When many agreed, I knew this was a good initiative.
